Ventura Bus Lines partnership launch
We are really excited to announce HDF Corp’s new partnership with Ventura Bus Lines.
As Victoria’s largest privately owned bus company, Ventura Bus Lines is set to use this partnership to make a big impact on bringing further diversity to all areas of the Victorian transport workforce. The partnership is designed to increase employment opportunities for indigenous communities to benefit the Victorian public transport industry.
Providing equal opportunity, a culturally diverse workforce and an inclusive environment are all a top priority for HDF Corp and Ventura Bus Lines.
Our partnership with Ventura has given us the opportunity to provide an invaluable insight into the barriers to employment faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
HDF Corp partner exclusively with companies who offer a culturally safe and inclusive organisation to ensure their people are taken care of in the workplace. When supporting an Indigenous applicant with a job opportunity, we take a holistic quality-based approach, by providing guidance and support throughout the recruitment process, transition into the workplace, and ongoing mentoring, support, and guidance to both the employee and the employer. For HDF Corp, it’s all about creating positive, meaningful relationships and connecting the right people with the right employers.
Our valued partnership with Ventura is set to encourage more applicants from the indigenous community whilst bringing new talent and diversity into the Ventura workforce. In the short time since the partnership began, two new indigenous employees have joined the Ventura team as a part of the Ventura 21 in 21 apprentice and traineeship program.
Michael McDerby and Matthew Keleman commenced their Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeships at the Ventura Dandenong depot and Croydon depot on the 1st of February 2021. Both new apprentices have since taken to their apprenticeship with enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. It is clear we can expect great things from Michael and Matthew in the future, and we look forward to watching them learn and grow in their role at Ventura.
As an extension of this new partnership, we will work with Ventura to provide opportunities for training and employment to the indigenous communities, in all areas of the Ventura business including, bus driving, operations and administrative functions.
